This course provides a comprehensive overview of elder law, focusing on the legal issues and challenges faced by older adults. Students will explore the legal principles and practices essential for advising and representing elderly clients, encompassing topics such as estate planning, long-term care, guardianship, housing, and elder abuse. The course will also address the intersection of law and Government benefits, including Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security Disability, and SSI while highlighting the importance of a holistic approach to meeting the needs of older individuals.
